just saw it. i'm all hopped up on java jive so i gotta stick my wiener in the wind and say i think this film may make old oscar drop his sox.

i think clint won last year and he deserves another..BUT, what a project/cast scorsese asembled. i don't even watch oscar night to be honest. suddenly, i feel i have a favorite and i want it to win.

I thought Eastwood's film was better....but the Departed was a lot more fun....which is why I go to see a movie for the most part. Also Scorsese has been robbed so many times....I'm rooting for him.

"The Departed", although a fantastic film, was not the best picture of the year. That honor should of went to "Letters from Iwo Jima". I'm not that upset about it being Martin Scorsese finally got the respect he deserves, but I thought Letters deserved it the most.

i'm afraid i've got to change horses in the middle of the stream and agree w/ you TUCUMCARI_BOUND.  LFIJ represents a real story. all those soldiers lost in battle deserved a piece of oscar. what i did was read all the  reviews on the IMDB that we're unfavorable toward departed, then i got to thinking of what crutial battle iwo was. not to mention clint's work. Afro

the acadamy has my respect letting marty have his well deserved moment in the sun. i'm a nicholson addict. a cheese eating rat bastard for flopping, for which i hope i don't pay god forbid. out of all the  things i read  one cop of 35 years posted his thoughts. his oppinion was the mass. state troopers do not use the F**** word. it's not saying it that makes a man, while using the it shows weakness.  editing oscar was well deserved by thelma shoonmaker. wahberg stold every scene he was in. but most important, departed was given birth by it's asian original, "INFERNAL AFFAIRS".

also, i wasn't busting my chops making any  films. i simply sit on my lilly white butt offering my oppinion. all those who gave up their lives on that horrific island paid a price for which i am eternally grateful.
