Maybe because I'm into film making, not reviewing products...
Also, when you co-produce something, you are never impartial.
The image quality is inferior to the movement BD, the German rights holders
had no access to the negative, just a German distributors internegative, which
is at least two generations away. But I like the colors better, the US BD
shows too much "blue" (anyway, a great HD master).
The German release (media book & flip case) includes my supplements, unfortunately
the Americans were not interested in picking them up:
- Audio commentary by Mike Siegel
- HD scan of a 1969 German 35mm print
- Featurettes:
- Filming Silenzio (9:50)
- Promoting Silenzio (9:17)
- Silenzio in Pictures (6:51)
plus:
Presentation by Jean-Pierre Dionnet (4:15)
1972 Interview with Klaus Kinski (8:39)
French opening and closing (3:57)
Alternate Ending (1:57)
Trailers:
- French Trailer (3:02)
- German Trailer (2:28)
Next to the other releases I co-produced last year,
it is pictured in the middle row, on the right...
