Let's not get ahead of ourselves. A Clint thread is not needed. You can talk about Clint as much as you want on each of the Dollars Trilogy Films. Ennio on the other hand is different in my opinion.

it's not needed but we definitely have a lot of fans, not just members.  I think a Clint section would attract more visitors....

then again, that may not be the best idea.. ;)

Well, i guess it's up to Cal and the moderators anyway...

It took me around 10 minutes to find all these topics that are about Eastwood (a few of them don't deserve to be on a seperate section, just like the one about "who is cooler, Van Cleef or Eastwood?"  which one of these links). I'm sure their is still a large ammounts of others, even if, according to what I saw during these 10 minutes, their is far more Morricone's topics on this board. Anyway, I really think he needs a section, if we give a section to Morricone.

Concerning the Clint Eastwood board, that could be a problem for Cal, that could be a reason for him to answer "no", but not for us... Well, at least everyoen agrees for Ennio.

Ps: I saw that The Last Day of Johnny Boy was registered in the movies index, thank you very much FC... it is ranked just before an almost leone film :) Now banjo will have to put FC, Noodles, Silenzio and Peace in the actor/director index! 8)

(just kidding, Banjo, don't do that!)

I don't care about the actors - give Ennio a section!

If you were to give Ennio his own section, how would you organize it? Wouldn't you end up just replicating the board as it now exists in miniature, sub-dividing the section into areas for each of the films (excluding COR, of course)? A more practical approach, it seems to me, would be to put a permanent thread in each of the film sections we have now, and make it a sticky. You could also put a General Morricone thread in the General Section, making it also a sticky.

No jenkins, I really think a Ennio Section would work. We could talk about film composers in more detail. I love composed musical soundtracks, and I'd love to talk about Ennio's work and compare it to other great composers I love. I'm sure I speak for many here.

Well, this is a Leone board. If the Morricone material doesn't stick pretty closely to the Leone movies he composed for, the Ennio section will get out of control. The guy has scored something like 500 movies, and if we have a whole section devoted to him, pretty soon SL will be a minority presence on his own board. Morricone is actually a bigger topic: he could support several message boards.

Well, even though you make a very good point, if you count the amount of topics that aren't related to SL on this board, you end up with the SL related topics being the minority.  There are A LOT of "off-topic" and "other films" discussions. So I see nothing wrong with a section dedicated to Morricone.
Trust me, SL's movies would be negatively affected if the music were not done properly.  Ennio's contribution to Leone's films make them the great spectacles that they are. Sergio knew Morricone is a genius...

We can talk about Morricone's collaboration with Leone as well as his scores for other films. Besides I've been dying to talk about Morricone and comparing him to other great composers.

In my opinion, no, for the reasons already mentioned by Dave Jenkins board. If we add to many boards specializing on Leone's collaborators, this site would be extremely top-heavy. Same with Clint, LVC, etc. - talk about them within their respective films, or in the off-topic section.

the title of this thread suggests only adding a Morricone section.
And since Leone's films would be pretty much nothing without his scores I think it's a great idea.

By majority vote, i think we can agree with FC.

However, it's up to the mods and Cal (as i stated before)
