hat question?

When I saw OUATIW again recently I noticed maybe irelevant fact. In the scene where Frank and Morton had their coversation, and in the Frank/Jill "love scene" Frank didn't have his hat on, of course .Cheyenne is also without his hat in the famous shaving scene at McBain's farm.
But Harmonica? Did he ever took of his hat in this movie? If he did, I somehow missed it. I know that he didn't have his hat in the hanging scene, but it is different thing, he was young, and it was before his tragedy occured. Also in the scene that was cut out from the movie when sheriff's men are beating Harmonica.  Even inside the house he is wearing his hat. Like it was his part of the body or something.

It is not in that scene only. In the scene when he was washing his face at the well, he was hideing his gun bellow his hat. To help you remember that scene, that was happening at Jill`s (McBain`s) estate, and there he soots two (I think two) of the Frank`s man, following the scene with Shyenne, when he sais: "Not that he just khows how to play, he knows how to shoot, too". I think I got it right.

I think it's, as you wrote already, in the beginng, at the well on Sweetwater and in the train. So it's three sequences.


I have another hat question... about the type of hat Man With No Name wears. I mean, its top (I lack English terms, so if it isn't called like that, just pretend it is and later tell me what the right term is, OK?), it seems to me it isn't a very common type. Actually, the same type appears in OUATITW, too (I think Cheyenne has such hat, or was it Frank?) I had a feeling for a while that it's such "SW hat".

So my question is, is it actually more common than I think? Does it appear in American westerns, too?

This hat is I think called a slouch hat, and it has a flat blocked top, its not a cowboy hat. It was introduced by a Hungarian to America circa 1852.

CJ, you really know where to find what you're looking for, don't you? That's said to be an even better ability than knowing things...
However, when I'm googling "slouch hat", most results I get don't look like this one...

I was also asking because I don't remember seeing it on any old photos from West. It really doesn't look like a common cowboy hat; that's what's so cool on it, isn't it? I wouldn't mind having such hat...

I haven't seen many American westerns... almost none, to be correct. So I'm glad someone else can give me the information.

And yeah, looking on the production photos from my DVD, I noticed it was Frank who had it. And I saw it on a picture from McBain massacre as well.
However, I still think Cheyenne has it, too. There was a thread somewhere where someone was wondering if Cheyenne's hat was the one from Dollar Trilogy, and someone even spotted the holes in it. However, when I look at it, he doesn't have such flat brim Blondie's hat does have...
