In everyone's life there is a "Summer of '42"

« : July 27, 2007, 04:51:32 AM »

July 27:

Dear James,
Just to say I am sorry that I haven't dealt with your request yet, but I have definitely not
forgotten! Things have become very busy suddenly but I shall give it some time very soon-you should hear
from me again within the next week to 10 days maximum. I hope that is OK. Best wishes, Vivienne.

Hi Vivienne,
Please, take as much time as needed. I understand you have a demanding and hectic schedule...

That's awesome. Maybe she can give her opinion about the whole John/Sean debate.

She really is a  class act. She could have quickly answered the questions with little
thought just to do away with it, but she wants to make sure she has the time to answer each
thoughtfully. How cool is that! She is soooo sweet. I hope to get her agent's address so I can send
her an appropriate gift.

That's extremely nice and thoughtful of her. I'm happy she's taking the time to do this. Good for her! She just gained my respect.

I dunno about that. Sir Christopher knows quite a bit.

My next goal is to nail down an interview with Claudia. What do you think my
chances are? The big problem is she doesn't speak english. Or does she???
I was lucky with Vivienne. I had been researching for months and as soon as I
mentioned it on the other thread, Mike Siegel mentioned her new photography
site. Pure luck!  I may have to write a letter to her  if I have no luck with the e-mail
address.

Claudia Cardinale speaks english. Unless they dubbed her interviews on the OUATITW dvd. :P

Good. But why did they dub her voice in OUATITW? Her accent possibly?

I'm not 100% they did dub her voice with a different person.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyPRDqNqPLU - A scene with her from The Professionals. I do believe this is her natural speaking voice.

Interesting! That is the first time I heard her REAL voice. She does have a thick
Tunisian accent. Now I know why they dubbed her voice! Thanks for the link
Whalestoe. BTW, interesting handle.

You're welcome. :)

My handle is from Mark Z. Danielewski's The Whalestoe Letters (also found in his novel, House of Leaves). Great author, all should check out his work.

That's what I think. I remember watching "The Leopard" many years ago, she was dubbed in that one too. Still, in the case of OUATITW, I think her accent would be very appropriate for her character - what do I know?

I think the OUATITW dubbing was nothing short of masterful.
