The glance that makes holes in the silver screen

« #90 : August 16, 2007, 07:11:35 AM »

I might add that my aunt's husband has Rio Bravo (seen twice) so it would be very easy to get  that one for a viewing, and I forgot to mention that I have Django (seen once) and God Forgives, I Don't (never seen) on tape. I was planning on watching the latter soon, but maybe I should save it for "GF,ID-movie night"? I also had The Stagecoach on tape but I recorded on it :-X (:-[ please, don't yell at me). We have a TV station that airs a western once a month so I'll check what films they are gonna show in the future. Another station aired a series of SWs a few months ago but I didn't tape any of them (excluding Django).

They had these:

The War Wagon (1967)
McLintock! (1963)

They didn't have them listed further than October, but they said they'll be presenting four John Wayne films, which means that the whole rest of this year is gonna be all Wayne.

Just found that another channel is presenting films chosen by Aki Kaurismäki this fall and there's one western, Day of the Outlaw.

I really should buy some classic AWs and SWs but the money is a real issue...

The War Wagon was a really enjoyable western flick.

McClintock is okay.
