Post names with picture if possible of leading ladies in our favorite western films or western films in general. We talk so much about the leading men in western films, I thought we should have an appreciation thread of the women in these westerns, actresses we love! Post picture with name of actress and the character she plays below and what film it's from.

Claudia Cardinale as Jill McBain.

Once Upon a Time in the West (1969)

Tell the truth TB, if it were up to you, you'd rename this thread the "Claudia Cardinale Picture Appreciation Thread", otherwise known as the "Claudia Cardinale is the most gorgeous woman ever to live" thread.

LOL, the only reason why I put Claudia first is because this is a Leone board. Trust me, I love other actresses. It's only fitting to put Claudia first here.  Afro If it makes you feel anybetter I'd put someone else first. Would that make it better Sonny. Wink

Natalie Wood as Debbie Edwards.

The Searchers (1956)

I absolutely adore Natalie Wood. Such a wonderful and beautiful actress. It's to bad she had to be takin' from us so young.

Oh, don't worry TB.  There's no need to hide your love for Claudia.  Grin

Actually, if it had been me who started the thread, I would've most likely started it with her as well.

As for Natalie Wood, she's also a good choice.  I haven't seen The Searchers (yeah I know.. don't kill me) but I saw her in the original Miracle on 34th Street, and in The Westside Story, I always liked her.

Grin I'm not hiding anything, trust me. Yes, I'm very fond of Claudia, but you make it sound like I'm being obsessive. haha please don't think that. She's a wonderful actress. The scenes in Once Upon a Time in the West when she's not speaking...Brilliant. She had an ability to show what she was feeling without speaking. Not a lot of actresses can do this.

Anyway, off to the next leading lady in a Western Film....

Felicia Farr as Emmy.

3:10 to Yuma (1957)

Felicia was to die for in this classic Western. Surprisingly we didn't see as much of her as one would like in the future. She was wonderful here in only a few scenes, but memorably to say the least. Look at those eyes!

Kim Darby as Mattie Ross.

True Grit (1969)

Kim is not talked about as much as she deserves. She was absolutely wonderful in True Grit and certainly held her own acting along side the great John Wayne.

Susan George

I don't think she's been in any other westerns besides Sonny and Jed, but still deserves a post..
