Noodles:  "How's your sister?"
Moe:  "Ain't seen her in years.  She's a big star now."
Noodles:  "We shoulda known, huh?  You can always tell the winners at the starting gate.  You can tell the winners and you can tell the losers...who'd put a penny on you?"
Moe:  "I put everything I ever had on you."

MAX: Who says I don't have a way with women?

(It is only good in the context - but I'm sure you remember the scene..)

Dominic: "Keepe your shirt on, capuano!!", telling the mob guy to take it easy...

The scene in the car after the killing of Joe - where Noodles says something like:
"One of these days they're gonna ask me to get rid of you, do you want that? I know that I don't!!"
De Niros body language in that scene is great.

Cockeye always seemed pretty stupid to me, and he looks particularly idiotic as he utters:
"Newspaper guys donīt know what the **** they want" - that was his commentary to the whole affair, he's a wise guy in more than one way.

And the Joe Minaldi insurance story - by the way: is Burt Young one of the most type cast actors or what?

Noodles: "What the hell should I go home for; my old man's praying, my mother's crying, and the light's turned off - at least in here I can read"

The words are probably not 100% correct  - but you'll know what I mean...

The most vulgar, unromantic, bad taste line in the movie:

"LIfe is stranger than shit!"

Who else could say this than Burt Young? Face it, the man wasn't exactly the stuff that romantic leads were made from....  Wink
