After Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet and what else, here you have Don Juan SW. And, of all the adaptations of former material, this is, in my opinion, the best, by far. I want to see again this movie about the vicissitudes of Don Juan-John the Bastard who, apart from being a womanizer is looking for his father who left him to grow up with a unlucky nick which stuck to him and gave him a chip on his shoulder. John will finally find him and will revenge himself, but...well, I won't anticipate the end which gives a good twist to the famous story.
This movie has rhythm, variety of situations, confrontations (both verbal and armed) and most of all an interesting main character, which is something you can't say for 80% of SW's. This gets from me 8\10 and even more if I could have watched an italian version instead of an english-spoken one released in Greece. The actors are all good, though the girls are not (as it should only be expected in a movie like this) up to par (I don't like Martine Beswick either in this movie). Richardson, Onorato, Camaso and Gora (Andrea Giordana's father) are all exceptional.
Fidenco manages a good main theme song in spanish but I'm not at all convinced by the rest of the score which quotes, of course, Mozart.

I finally watched this finally the whole way through last night, it was entertaining, and I agree Martine Beswick was not stellar in the least, though she looked pretty good. Different enough to keep my interest.

I'd go maybe at most 7/10 in the condition that the DVDr is in , if it was in better shape maybe more.
