I have to admit that every time I watch the scene of Steven and Angeleyes sitting on the dinner table, makes me feel to partake in the meal. Does anyone know, what exactly is served on the table? Also, what was Tuco and Angeleyes eating at the prison camp?

There was a thread about this ages ago. I think we determined it was some sort of vegetable stew.

It looks like vegetable stew to me and funnily enough I've actually got a spicy lentil and root vegetable casserole cooking in the oven as I type!
What about the bread that Angeleyes helps himself to during that scene?
To begin with it makes a pretty-much-expected sound as he cuts a big chunk of it for himself. But I have always been a bit uncomfortable with the fleshy sound that it makes later as he tears a piece from his teeth.

It's how I imagine raw flesh sounding being torn from the bone...

Dirty Rat, I'm not sure about the vegetable stew, but the bread they are eating is a peasant's-style bread knows as "torta" or "pan de torta" in the north of Spain. As you know, most of the GBU Civil War scenes were filmed in the province of Burgos, where the "pan de torta" is very common. Check this picture and no doubt you will recognize that type of bread.

Has anyone noticed how often LVC is seen eating a meal in the two films?

I can think of 3 occasions, where LVC is seen having meal.

For A Few Dollars More:

At the 'Taberna' in Agua Caliente.

The Good The Bad and the Ugly:

1. Steven's ranch.

2. At the P-o-W camp.

Yes, Whatever the food is, Eli does such a great job of acting, it makes me hungry and I want to eat veggies out of a wooden bowl and use a wooden spoon to eat it with. Lee Van Cleff also does a good job in the eating scene in FAFDM when the Hunchback approaches him, "Remember me Amigo"
