Oh, it's not really a problem, so much as being annoyed by repetitive jokes about how he wants to screw every man on Earth. If every other post by him didn't consist of such drek, or if they were funny, I wouldn't mind.

Well, I'll try to cool it down and make more meaningful posts. I can understand how it could get repetitive and annoying.

Nonsense!
rrpower knows how to mix crude low-brow humor with sophisticated analysis on films!

If your version of sophisticated analysis is "I WATCHED THIS MOVIE, AND THEN CREAMED MY JEANS."

Now there's a quote that gets right to the point.....
...of climax.

Groggy and I have very different ways of showing our love for movies:
Groggy types seventy paragraphs critical analysis.
I just relate movies to my semen.
Once Upon a Time in America is like the greatest orgasm in the world while Saving Private Ryan is like a giant turd.
So much for cooling down on the potty humor...

Only when I feel like it, and it's a movie I feel strongly about.

Just my opinion, but I thought the scenes on the beach towards the beginning of Saving Private Ryan were some of the most realistic and moving sequences I have ever witnessed.
If someone is shot from a long distance away, you wouldn't necessarily hear the individual gun shot amongst the sounds of battle but you turn round and a guy you were speaking to minutes before is no longer living.

The opening battle in SPR is not nearly as good as the climax - or say I.

They were both thrilling scenes.

I agree. The whole damn film is thrilling to me. A brilliant piece of cinema in my opinion.

In my opinion, Once Upon a Time in the West is the most perfect marriage of music and film that has ever been, so I guess I'll have to say OUATITW. However, Cinema Paradiso is the only movie, and the only music, (two seperate occasions, one listening and one watching), that has ever literally made my cry, and I'm usually not particularly emotional.
I love just about everything he's written though.
If I had to pick one piece of music that epitomizes Ennio Morricone it would probably be the theme to DYS. It seems to have most of the weirdness, beauty, and creative instrumentation that makes him great rolled into one piece.

No one mentioned Malena? The last time Ennio was robbed of an Oscar? That had a beautiful score.
