I love the tension and suspense his music creates in The Thing (1982).

I can now add "The Wild Horde" from My Name Is Nobody soundtrack. Epic! It kind of reminded me of the intro theme of TGTBTU.

The beginning theme grates on me a little but I love the organ score that starts at the 1:25 mark.

I knew the tune but didn't know where it came from. I discovered it today from a cd:

Another one, the greatness starts with the theme played by the flugelhorn:

This is a list of lesser known Morricone soundtracks which I created on IMDB:

http://www.imdb.com/list/ls056589415/

It is called "Best of the obscure Ennio Morricone Soundtracks"

I will link to some of the youtube videos as and when I get time.

may i introduce you all to my favorite obscure morricone score. this is for a film called LE SECRET starring jean louis trintignant. I find it amazing that Morricone's work for this film is not better known. It is among his best. The title track - Il Segreto starts off like it could enter Un Uomo Da Rispettare territory with the sounds of water drops trickling, followed by a dissonant sound. But there is soon a melodious piano and it is beautiful when the violin kicks in. Dal Mare has Edda Del Orso (?) starting off slowly and seductively and building up to a crescendo. It is as good as the title track. The whole soundtrack has a menacing feel to it, yet is is very melodious. I watched the movie and it was very good. recommend the movie stronly.

I'm sure I've seen this movie years (decades?) ago.

This one didn't make anything for me, it's the kind of cheesy stuff Morricone is often on the verge to, sorry.

and this is a pop track from the same film. this tune evokes feelings of nostalgia in me. i play it all the time when i'm drunk.

I see the nostalgia appeal, and I'll certainly try it next time I'm drunk :)

Ah I haven't this one in years  O0
