TWB could have benefitted from a score by Morricone, I agree (I don't like the movie very much either).

Not to keen on his FIVE MAN ARMY score though. Feels like a jigsaw puzzle of his other SW works.

Robert Mulligan (To Kill A Mockingbird, Summer of '42) would be my choice.
However, he has been absent from the film industry since 1991 ("Man In The Moon").
I certainly hope he is doing well. I emailed Jennifer O'Neill several months back
and asked her if she knew the whereabouts of Mr. Mulligan. She told me she has had
no contact with him since the early 70's. :(
