The 1994 movie Gunmen is a remake of the basic plot of GBU.  It was written by Stephen Sommers who went on to write and direct the Mummy and the Mummy II and wrote and is directing the upcoming Van Helsing to be released in May 2004.  Gunmen did poorly at the Box office and although the script was good when it was made into the movie it was turned into a "rap" star vehicle.

Well, it goes to show you that the producers and directors of today can NEVER remake the oldies but goodies on the big screen!  No way - no how!  It's no wonder it failed in the box office - trying to remake a movie like GBU or even just using the basic plot of GBU is a big NO NO - it would never match up to GBU no matter how hard they tried.  Even when they remake the old sitcoms from yesteryears like The Munsters and The Addamms Family and The Monkees - they all failed.  Nothing like the original 'cause the original movies and sitcms will win out every time!   Wink
