He arrives with that mysterious bag. What's in that? Clothes cannot, he wears the same clothes during the whole movie... even in the flashback Tongue

So, this is like the bag question of Pulp Fiction.  Grin Grin Grin

Tips?

It's just maybe an elaborate way to conseal his gun.  Cool

The bag doesn't appear later in the movie, only in the opening scene.

Who knows what was in it, it seems he had it just to conceal the gun like cj said...  Undecided

Duh - his music lessons !  He had promised his harmonica instructor that he'd practice every day.

Maybe he had multiple outfits, all the same, like the scientist in The Fly.

Maybe extra ammo.

That's not true.

Harmonica takes off a hook on the wall after the final duel.

I've always wondered what was in that bag of his. I also wonder what's in Morton's second train car, you never see the interior of it.

You were right Peace, he does take it off a hook before he lives Jill.

Still, we'll never know what was in it...

For one thing, his holster, since he doesn't wear it in the first scene.

I love things like this that are unexplained. Makes the film even more mysterious.

after that scene ,there supposed to be cut scene or scenes( such as harmonica is beaten by sheriff's men)if we would able to see all those scenes we would know what was in that bag. After that scene harmonica first scene at bar without his bag.

also at the end of movie there is no bag!!!!he left macbain's ranch without  that mysterious bag.he only gets small bag from the wall small bag for the horse.

I agree with Groggy just another elaborate way Harmonica has of hiding his gun, he may have even borrowed it from a fellow train passanger.

It does not bother me what is in his bag; anyway, he came for a mission, I would leave it to Harmonica's discretion (or if you wish to Sergio's), what the hell is in his bag.

What bothers me, is the second part of this story: Harmonica leaves "our lifes" with a complete different sort of bag; seems to me that the original bag became unpractical through the dynamic evolvement of events he faced; so he might have just replaced it for a more practical one!

But, to be frank, it still bothers me... Sad
