One of the best silent movies I've ever seen. Very naturalistic, very cruel. And the ending could be in an SW. In a very dark SW.  Wink

Stroheim was a genius.

A shame Stroheim had a hissy fit and burned all of the copies of the 9 hour version.

Would have loved to have seen that.

In all honesty, I really don't think I have the patience to sit through such a long silent film.

After a half hour I just didn't feel I was watching a silent film. It was really modern. And the actors are superb.

I've been really wanting to see this movie, but I don't know how to find it.  Netflix doesn't seem to have it at all?  Where have some other people seen it?

I saw it in the library on an old VHS. The quality was terrible but the movie still rocked.

They should release it on dvd. I think there is a 4 hour version too.

Oh, hey faggot RRPOWER from six years ago... (I've been here for six years now? Shit...)

I ended up watching this probably a couple years after this post and loved it. I watched the 2 hour and 20 minute cut though. I've started the 4-hour cut before, but it wasn't for me. I want a film, not a picture slideshow.

Anyways, does anyone know where to find a good-quality version of the 2 hour 20 minute cut? I'd love to see this again. I watched it on a 1988 VHS tape borrowed from a local library. I can't even find the tape anymore.
