This guy's heart seems to be in the right place: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-farr/what-dad-really-wants-for_b_74161.html

Nonetheless, I question some of his choices. Goldfinger, a high-speed car chase movie? And he seems to be missing some key examples. Where's Gone in 60 Seconds (the real one, not the one with Angelina Jolie)? Where's The Driver? Dude, you got paid to write that piece?

I agree DJ. However, Bullit was an excellent and worthy choice. Afro

Agree with DJ about Gone In 60 Seconds.  I thought that was a given.

He has a few VERY questionable choices.

Can't understand how no-one mentioned Taxi (1998)Huh

And in my opinion, one of those little forgotten gems should also be mentioned - The Gumball Rally (1976).

A few clips from the movie:

According to my memory To Live and Die in L.A. has much better chase scene than The French Connection which everybody here seems to worship.

Dude, you got paid to write that piece?

HuffPo doesn't pay any writers.

(and yet untold numbers of jackasses write for free for that rag).

btw, IMO Bullitt is #1

If brilliant means incoherent and headache inducing, yes.

I re-watched Fear Is The Key (1972) last night--the 20-minute chase with Barry Newman at the wheel of a Gran Torino is a lot of fun.

No it means stunningly filmed and cut. A visual feast. No idea why it should be incoherent.
This is film as it should be. Bond's inner condition is directly tangible via the montage. Characterising not by dialogues but by using the filmic language.

The best and most hated Bond (except maybe for Die Another Day).

Shaky camera + choppy editing = incoherent and headache inducing, yes.
Whether or not this reflects Bond's inner condition I'll leave to you.

It's not choppy. Fast and precise. Fascinating stuff for me.

Actually Quantum gets better with every viewing.
