They would have changed his name to Super ASSHOLE if Nick Cage got the role.

Yeah, check it out, Kate Bosworth was pretty doable as Lois Lane.

Superman III was funny, I didn't care what others say. Where else will you see The Man of Steel having a drink, and kick the crap out of himself?

I like IV because of that over the top fight Supe has with "Nuclear Man" or whatever he was called.

 Huh

Haha. I remember there's a handful of scenes where you can see wires and cables either carrying, or hoisting Sup and Nuclear Man into the air.

yeah, I guess so. It was such a major step backwards though from the previous movies. I saw all the Reeve ones in the theater and even at 12 SUPERMAN 4 was bad to these eyes.

The concept of rthe fight I thought was great (Elevator to the moon! Great idea!) it just wasn't executed well.

Superman is in definite need of a reboot. A Superman Begins.

No, anything but an origin story.
We all know it by now.

I really liked Returns for all the reasons that everybody didn't.
It focused on the characters as opposed to being a Superman versus Insert madman endowed with super powers plot.
The pacing did get creaky during the final act (how many times did we see Superman lift something off him to save the day?) but the first 3rd of the film more than make up for the stumble.

Next we're probably likely to see the Man Of Steel fight Brainiac or somebody.
Supe doesn't have that many villains to choose from.

The Incredible Hulk was a reboot without an orgin story and it worked out well.

I know one idea they have or Superman to make a trilogy of films about the origins of Superman.

Haven't they heard of Smallville?

The orgin story is done to death.

I agree, they need to get Brianiac in the picture, along with Doomsday.

Yeah but your faux title Superman Begins suggested an origin yarn.

And I'm one of the many that did not enjoy the new Hulk.

I actually prefer the Ang Lee one mainly because of that action sequence between the time Hulk escapes the military base and arrives in San Francisco.
The new Hulk didn't have anything that came close to that sequence.
Another merit of the Ang Lee film was the cast.
Tyler can't hold a candle to Connelly (in the looks and acting department) and the guy who played her father was a joke compared to Sam Elliott.

Both films (to me) are, for the most part, plodding bores but the 2003 Hulk is a bit better than the new version.

I fell asleep during Hulk.

WB can do pretty much what they want with Superman. They had a million ideas in the past 25 years.

Super-Mumble would be better.

The melting faces and exploding heads would in no way warrant an R rating. They were campy, as was the heart ripping.

Tell that to a young'n.
