A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.  Add me to the Elia Kazan fan club based on this movie.  I just saw this movie. Based on it, i'm gonna look into more of his movies.  What are the essential Kazan movies i have to see?

Splendor In The Grass is good, I take people fishing at the Waterfall where Natalie Wood tries to commit suicide, it's Beatty's first film also. It's about family values circa late 1920's.
Baby Doll is a favorite with Eli Wallach, pretty deviant story too with Karl Malden and Carroll Baker.
America America is good too, has Frank Wolff too.
A Face in the Crowd is great
On the Waterfront is a classic

Viva Zapata! I like

Panic In The Streets is a great Film Noir

You did not even mention the greatest Kazan movie, A Streetcar Named Desire. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Is Baby Doll a pure comedy?

Look a few post above I didn't want to be redundant.

No it's not, it's a pretty bizarre tale, humorous in spots but not a comedy.

Yeah, Drink, and also look at the response you made with 3 thumbs up! Not only do you not read/re-read the posts of others, you can't even be bothered to refresh yourself on YOUR OWN RESPONSES. And everything is on one page. But I'm sure you have some alibi to give, one more justification, one more ladle of horseshit.

That's what you get, Drink, for getting out of bed this morning.
