Watched "Bad Day At Black Rock" yesterday and there is a scene in a lunchcounter where Spencer Tracy and Ernest Borgnine have an encounter.

Borgnine menaces the "one handed" Tracey then when Tracey gets up to leave Borgnine puts his hand on him and spins him around. Tracey then gives him a karate chop much like Manco does Red Cavanaugh, interesting I wonder if Leone saw this and wether or not it is the genisis of the original "manco-one armed idea".

I'm not sure where, but I've heard in many places that Leone "quoted" this scene for the one-handed Manco stuff.
