And your not trying to start a flame war?

Right.
I was only questioning why you have to get defensive over a movie that hasn't even been released yet. If nobody likes it (and judging by the trailer of this stinker it looks, to me, that their head is in the right place) move on. Don't type stuff like "you're full of it" just because somebody else has a different opinion.

over and out.

I wasn't starting anything. I happen to know who I'm talking with. You act like we're all new here and don't know eachother. You've acted like this since I got here FC. You try to be the father of the board and hold everyone's hand like you're in charge. I can say "you're full of it" if i want jokingly.

Do you got that FC? "over and out"

One of the first movies of Jean-Jacques Annaud, right? Is it any good? (I've heard it is.)

Is it one of those classic 'searching fantasies', like ''Neverending story'' ?

Ahhh, love "Neverending Story." Sure the effects are outdated but that's one of the reason's why I love it.

Actually its sort of a comedy, this group of cavemen get attacked by another tribe the beat them off but during the battle their fire is put out, so they pick two guys to go on a "Quest for Fire" one of them is Ron Pearlman, they go through quite a few adventures, its entertaining they all speak in grunts and authentic caveman gibberish.

I don't get where this might look good to me if I was seven talk. Have any of you heard of fantasy? Many of you are in love with The Lord of the Rings type films and this looks simliar. I'm not saying it will be the quality of those films story wise but it's in that kind of league.

This is not a film for little kids.
well there two kinda of seven year olds in me, the kind that likes a good fantasy world that engrosses with atmosphere (like star wars and LOTR) and the seven year old that likes special effects. Judging from the trailer this film has ZERO atmosphere, if you hadn't told me the name i would have had trouble discerning what the era was. It feels like an egyptian movie with all the monuments and such. and the fact that these "cavemen" speak perfect english is just pissing me off.

Not for little kids? when you're heading out to the theaters to see this I dare you to give me an accurate number of how many kids and screaming babies there are. You couldn't because there are too many to count

That's another problem I have with these kinds of films. Say what you want about Mel Gibson but at least he had the sense to have his Indian characters in "Apocalypto" speak their own dialect.

Little kids in the theatre does not make this a little kids film. When I seen the LORD OF THE RINGS films, they were full of LITTLE KIDS. This film is not for little kids. I would think the violence in the trailer would be a hint of that. Of course, parents don't care about those sort of things and they're bring their little babies anyway and give them nightmares for weeks.

Yeah, they are a 'little' outdated, but still, it's a great adventure.

Sounds interesting, I'll check it out ASAP. At least to see Ron Perlman in the role of his life (second being ''Beauty and the Beast'', of course).

Violence is a part of every little boy's fantasies, i know because i was a little boy too. No matter how you want to put it, whether its their nature or that society puts them up to it, kids love violence. You ask any kid nowadays to tell you there favorite movie is and the number one answer will be 300. Now that certainly doesn't mean 300 and other violent movies are kids movies but when a violent fantasy lacks sufficient atmosphere then it loses its fantasy vibe and becomes an ordinary violent CGI film that becomes the equivalent of porn to little kids. While there are always kids in fantasy films, in a good fantasy film, you can always find your fair share of adults (ones that arent stuck with the burden of chaperoning). my guess is that most people wont be going to this for fantasy but merely for a cgi action flick.
