I've heard that, in 1975, Leone considered French-Canadian singer-actor Robert Charlebois (A Genius) for an important part in OUATIA. For which part??? Maybe Frankie's brother Joe - Leone shot most of the sequences (concerning Joe) in Canada...

Did they say if Aiello was approached for any parts other than the Police Chief? I remember Frayling's interview of Aiello in STDWD implied that he was offered a choice of roles and decided on his namesake character.

mind you, the review's not that helpful. I think it's a good book. No factual info that isn't available elsewhere, esp in Frayling's book, but some good discussion, interpretation of the film.

I like that last capture of the gang as kids.  Nice.  A few months ago I was searching Amazon, I noticed that the end of last year the Robert Cumbow book, The Films Of Sergio Leone, was reprinted.  I don't have it, I've read posts where it's been recommended.  It's still kind of pricey brand new, paperback $40.  Before the reprint it was running even more than that on secondary markets.  Kind of surprised after the release of the Anthology that Something To Do With Death hasn't had a reprint.
