Outside the italian Zapata westerns I haven't seen many Zapatas.

Is there any American Zapata western that share the same view about Revolution?

Yea, the closest recent one is naturally "Viva Zapata" with Brando & Quinn, and the other is Eisenstein"s "¡Que Viva México!"which was never completed. They are both more serious and don't have that "romance of the sombreo" aspect that most all of the Italian Zapata's have .

"Viva Villa" (1934) on the other hand with Wallace Beery is like a template for the Italian Zapata's its even got Villa (Beery) as a very picaresque charater.

I just downloaded that. Finally found a copy. I want to see it not so much for Brando or Quinn but for Kazan, as he is one of my favorite directors (though I just viewed Gentleman's Agreement and I wasn't too fond of that).

Is there any American Zapata western that share the views of revolution found in DYS?

Could you perhaps explain what you mean by this?

The fact that DYS it doesn't glorify revolution like most of the Zapata Westerns.
