That thought crossed my mind too when I saw the film. Amazing film by the way. Wasn't there a similar shot in From Hell? I clearly remember that the scenes in the opium den reminded me of OUATIA, and I'm pretty sure there was a overhead shot as well.

I'll bumb this thread. Some interesting trivia here. I've seen only Dogville of the movies mentioned, but I can see the reference there. I'll watch From Hell soon. Interesting what Bleuberry says about The Element of Crime.

Would make sense there are overhead shots in
Frida
. Don't remember too much about them.
