I absolutely love quirky comedies such as this one, with a dry sense of humor. Bill Murray could never been more right in being cast as Steve Zissou. His type of comedic delivery is perfect for director Wes Anderson's material.

I think this is an original little comedy with some flat out hilarious moments that also comes with some touching sequences mixed in. I love the dialogue, and the whole ensemble cast along with Bill Murray with Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Anjelica Huston, and Jeff Goldblum.

Here's the plot for those who don't know: With a plan to exact revenge on a mythical shark that killed his partner, oceanographer Steve Zissou (Bill Murray) rallies a crew that includes his estranged wife (Anjelica Huston), a journalist (Cate Blanchett), and a man (Owen Wilson) who may or may not be his son.

A little movie trivia from the IMDB trivia page for "Life Aquatic."

Michael Gambon's character's glasses were modeled after those of Ennio Morricone.

Take a look at him on the poster. He's to the far left. He's rockin' those Morricone glasses. I love it!

A lesser Anderson title but still a very enjoyable movie.

Willem Dafoe steals the show as Murray's assistant.

Rushmore and Royal Tenebaums is still the best in Anderson's camp.

I agree. I looooove Natalie Portman. I can't deny that it was nice to see her from the side naked. haha.
