In the late 50's until the mid '70s in Italy we had a show aired at 20.30 called Carosello. It was made up of 5, later 6 commercials which, as in Italy at that time commercials were thought of as something to be ashamed of (how wise we were at that time), were based on a show of a kind and finally with the advertisement itself. In the case of  corned beef Montana they made up a series based on three characters (Gringo, his gal and Black Jack the villain) as a SW parody accompanied to the music of Lorne Greene's Ringo,

which in Italy had been a huge success in 1965 in this version.

The strenght of this commercial series was in the lyrics, full of word games (just like the original italian version of Ringo had been. In fact the lyricist were the same ones) and the fast editing of photographs. Unfortunately on youtube there's only this first episode.

I don't know how much can this be appreciated by non italian speaking people, but, believe me, these commercials were a gas, I was a boy then and looked always forward to when they were aired. And I ate lots of Montana.
