It is a movie which starts slowly, cheaply produced (it was made for TV) badly acted by Kristofferson and Cash but little by little the two gain confidence with their characters and Cash, I must admit, becomes in the last 30 minutes the best Frank I saw on screen, even better than Stacy Keach. The finale may be not historically accurate but it's the kind of over the top scene one expects from action movies after Leone's advent and which justifies the presence in this forum. In consideration of the newest James movie, one should compare the scenes of the murder by Ford of Jesse's cousin in the two movies. Here it is dispensed fastly and effectively. People at IMDb remarked the presence of four country singers: K and Cash, Mrs Cash and Nelson (his general Shelby's rendition is great, when he's not speaking: his entrance in the courtroom gives you thrills) forgetting (or not knowing) the presence of a fifth relevant figure: the immortal author of:
