naw it sucks

It's certainly no Transformers, The Rock, Armegeddon, Bad Boys 1 or 2, The Island, or Pearl Harbor.

Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)

Brilliant. Timeless. Masterful. The greatest film ever made? I think so.

That joke is about as old as this thread...

Intohimon vallassa (1947) - 8.5/10
The three first reels are a bit corny with overacting, but after that it's a very solid melodrama.

Question: how does this thread get more Replies then it has views?

You'd figure you'd  have to post blindfolded or something. Maybe we should ask panache about it.

I've noticed that I've had a good amount of posts deleted recently. I don't know what's up with that... Undecided

King Kong - 8/10 - Of course the original. Very good and extremely entertaining, in spite of laughably dated effects, rampant sexism and racism, and not-that-great acting. Kong himself however had an amazing amount of pathos for a stop-motion ape, and the finale was genuinely moving.

I actually prefer the stop-animation effects to the overbearing CGI in most movies today. Films back then had escapism to them whereas films today look more like video games.

My honest opinion is that ALL special effects look fake. That's why, as a general rule, I dislike sci-fi/fantasy films.

Well, if you're not much of a fan of sci-fi/fantasy films than I understand where you're coming from. At least you enjoyed KING KONG though. It is a fun-film to watch.

It is, and the scene where King Kong was slowly shot to death by the airplanes was very moving. I haven't seen the Jackson version but I have my doubts about it.

Jake Black gives the best ending to that movie ever.

In the Name of the Father is a 9 for me. My favorite DDL performance/film so far. Afro
