Except their basis in Harlan Ellison, as Jenkins points out.

Wasn't the script referred to as the greatest undone movie ever by some magazine before the movie got greenlit? Funny?

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) - 1/10.

What a dull, stupid, pointless film.

1 point for special effects? :)
I wouldn't rate it so low but I understand why some people would. A part of me even agrees... However, as far as I remember, the acting was pretty good (I'm not talking about Brad Pitt who cannot act here since he doesn't have a character), and some parts were ok... An interesting thing I noticed is the use of cinema in the movie: the movie is a war/adventure movie in the 10's, a musical in the 50's, a music video in the 90's...

You just convinced me that I have to give this one a chance at some point, after all.

I'm great at arguing.

Star Wars IV // A New Hope // Special Edition 7/10
May we please REMOVE the terrible CGI? The movie would deserve 9/10!

Never heard of that!
It was on IMDb (Cameron's trivia page) for a couple of years but I can't find it now.

It's fucked up that this version is somehow the "official" one.

Yeah... And don't get me started on the re-edit of the scene where Solo shoots the bounty hunters...

I liked it well-enough I gave it an 8/10 I think) but it didn't strike me as having much rewatch value. Pitt was pretty bleh but the rest of the cast was fine, particularly Blanchett, who has never been more beautiful. It managed to transcend its gimmick IMO and still would have been worthwhile had it been a straightforward melodrama. The stuff with Hurricane Katrina was a waste of time though.

Jingle All the Way - 6/10 - A perennial Christmas favorite at my house. It's not a very good movie - if nothing else it's near-impossible to buy Ahnuld as an all-American Everydad, let alone Phil Hartman as a lady's man - but it has a pleasant off-handed charm that makes it compulsively watchable. Sinbad provides most of the laughs here although the movie has some classic Ahnuld lines ("Put the cookie DOWN!"). Some pretty pointed satire about the commercialization of Christmas works well although the cartoonishness overwhelms it. The finale is a bit over-the-top but it somehow fits into the film.

I can't even agree with you on Cate Blanchet. She was annoying down to her fake New Orleans accent. Her character wasn't likable at all to me. The love story itself was superficial. The film felt like a deperate attempt for Fincher to win an Oscar. There was no reason for the film to be so long. And the movie was too dark. They obviously wanted to cover up the flaws in the CGI, especially at the end when Brad Pitt is suppose to be a teenager. He was in the shadow most of the time.
