Driving Miss Daisy - 10/10

A bit dated, I watched it last week, but I forgot to write about it... because there isn't much to write outside of "I loved every moment of it!"

I love Morgan Freeman's work here.

I loved both him and Jessica Tandy, it was amazing to see her both as an upright elegant elderly lady and the very, very old one in the home (oh, help, what's the proper term for it in English?).

There are two kinds of films in this world:those which stay, even when their genre is forgotten, and those which don't.

The Crucible - 5/10

Which version? The one with Day-Lewis and Scofield?

I'm assuming that's the one RR's referring to. Winona Ryder was also in it IIRC.

Yup its the DDL+Scofield one. Even Daniel Day wasn't good in it.

Don't all of his other films rate the same?

Well, shouldn't that mean it's a masterpiece by the standards you cite?

Pépé le Moko - 8/10

Your typical '30s black-and-white romantic melodrama, with a young, hot Jean Gabin (+3 points), femme fatales, spies, traitors and the classic "ship departure" ending.
