Un Chien Andalou - rofl/10
what I love more than surrealism is the people trying to digest it and put meaning to everything. because there is no meaning. AND I LOVE IT.

i agree that there aren't any symbolic elements in UCA but the best surrealist movies I've seen, like The Exterminating Angel, are usually built on it.

As much as I love UCA, I'm just fortunate that it spawned this song:

Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre. What did you think of the script?

Bound - 8/10 - Our film class viewing of the week. I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. After some awkward stage-setting with too many lesbians in love scenes early on, it becomes gripping and tense at about the halfway point, with some very bizarre moments of humor throughout. Joe Pantoliano got my sympathy for most of the film though, I don't think that was the Wachowskis' intention.

I really liked this one, Bruno Ganz was astounding as Der Fuhrer. The battle scenes were a bit underwhelming, everything else was brilliant.

No Direction Home: Bob Dylan (2005) - 8.5/10
Didn't feel like a over-three-hour documentary. The ending wasn't satisfying though.

Well, I don't agree. "The Birds" is a stroke of genius in my opinion. A thrilling film that creates suspense and tension with the sound of birds with no musical score whatsoever. Also, the film still has people debating even after all these years. This is possibly my favorite Hitchcock film.

Really? I probably agree with Kurugen, with my score being about a 7 instead. It's all right but nothing spectacular. Especially compared to Rear Window, Rope, Vertigo, Rebecca, etc.
