Pink Flamingos (1972)
Beyond belief, beyond rating ;D I probably would have liked it ten times better if I had seen it in movie theater (watching Plan 9 at the movies is one of the best movie watching experiences I've ever had). Of course, being wasted would have helped a lot too. But the soundtrack was seriously great O0 The asshole must be the worst part.

Ugh! Nobody can bring me to watch this trash again.

Tedious and very unfunny.

The much talked about shit eating seen isn't nearly as disgusting as the sex scene in the chicken coop.

The Sound of Rio: Brasileirinho (2005) - 6/10
A document about the Brazilian choro music and culture. Some amazing jams here but this isn't really strong as a movie.

Gran Torino - 8/10
Great movie - Eastwood is as badass as ever and a great way to end his acting career. Nice ending too. But the supporting performances really chop down at the movie...in most scenes the Asian kid and his sister are unbearably bad. The two main Asians, the entirety of Walt's family, the gangs, the priest, those two cops...they sucked. But Eastwood is just so awesome it makes up for it, and it is a good movie with a pretty entertaining story.

1. The Wrestler (9/10)
2. The Dark Knight (9/10)
3. Revolutionary Road (9/10)
4. Frost/Nixon (8/10)
5. Gran Torino (8/10)
6. Slumdog Millionaire (8/10)
7. Appaloosa (8/10)
8. Burn After Reading (8/10)
9. Man on Wire (8/10)
10. Shine a Light (8/10)
11. Iron Man (7/10)
12. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (6.5/10)
13. Tropic Thunder (6.5/10)
14. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (5/10)
15. Hancock (5/10)
16. Rambo (4/10)
17. Jumper (2.5/10)

Some Like It Hot - 8/10 - Finally got to see this thanks to TCM. I really liked it, excellent script with lots of great lines (it is a Billy Wilder film). I don't think I've ever enjoyed a Jack Lemmon performance as much as this one. Tony Curtis was pretty good although his Cary Grant impersonation was a bit grating, and Marilyn Monroe was lovely. The only minor complaint is the plot with the bootleggers being completely dropped until the very end, but all things considered it's a minor quibble. Third on my list of Wilder's after Sunset Blvd. and Sabrina.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958): 8/10

I am incredibly fortunate to have a theater a couple blocks away that plays classic films on a monthly basis, and not in some rinky dink fifty seater either but probably one of the biggest theaters ive stepped into (i think it might have been an IMAX theater). Its a shame the film was really deteriorated (some points the dialouge skips around and the film gets buried underneath scratches). Though this is my first time seeing the picture i can't imagine seeing it anyother way(damage and all)

Next month they'll be showing North by Northwest (can't wait!)

One of my favorite Bille Wilder films has become "Kiss Me Stupid", Dean Martin does a take off on his own hound dog image, Kim Novack, Felicia Farr, and Ray Walston are great,  it was condemed by the Catholic Church.

You lucky Schwein!

This is - if not my favorite at least one of my favorites of Wilder's films. I can't understand why it's rated so low (in comparison with Wilder's other movies), on IMDb at least. I haven't seen Some Like It Hot, though...

Batman Begins (2005) - 7.5/10
It's good.

Kiss Me, Stupid is pretty good but has a crappy ending. The Seven Year Itch is another underappreciated gem, or does it garner too much attention because of that skirt shot? not really sure.

if I had to rank his work:

10 - perfection
Double Indemnity
Ace in the Hole
Sunset Blvd.

9 - damn near perfect
Stalag 17
The Apartment

8 - pretty good
Sabrina
Witness for the Prosecution
The Lost Weekend
The Seven Year Itch

7-8
Kiss Me, Stupid - terrible ending

7 - okay
The Fortune Cookie - falls apart after the hospital scenes

6 - sigh
Irma La Douce - loved the first 15 mins.
One, Two, Three - bad movie and I love the Cags.

Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre..

This is another Wilder movie nobody except me seems to truly like.

I'll make a similar list just for the sake of it:

10
Double Indemnity
Sunset Blvd.

9
Witness for the Prosecution
Irma La Douce
A Foreign Affair
Kiss Me, Stupid

8
Sabrina

7
The Front Page
The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes
The Apartment

6
Love in the Afternoon
Five Graves to Cairo - could be even 5/10

Evakko (1956) - 8.5/10
One of the better Finnish movies.

I've recently changed my rating standards.

From now on, I will rate the last film I saw either good, or bad.

Indiana Jones and the Kindgom of the Crystal Skull.

Good movie. O0

Good God, man, where then do you then place Double Indemnity? Are you completely crazy, or just insane?

Double Indemnity is fourth or fifth. I'm not sure how much I like it in comparison to Stalag 17, I'd have to give that a rewatch.
