The glance that makes holes in the silver screen

A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) - 8.5/10

Kurt & Courtney (1998)
The most fucked up thing above all is that a lot of people are probably making some dough out of this whole business...

"This makes five feature-length films watched in the last 24 hours. For me, that's some kind of record - especially considering most of the remaining time was spent sleeping, in class, or doing laundry"

Nuovo Cinema Paradiso (1988)

Good move! O0

Loved the ending.

Afterthought: I kinda wish Jane Russel took her top off in The Outlaw. I bet Hughs would have shot it if he knew the direction Hollywood was going in the next 60 years.

The Killing is pretty much perfect. I don't even think Jenkins can provide any potential flaws.
Lol, yes, I'm sure he can think of something to say.

The narration is pretty amateur and that scene where the big guy fights off like 50 guards is a bit ridiculous, but other than that there's really nothing wrong with the movie.

Taxi Driver - 10/10
The Sting - 8/10

Trying to rise to the challenge you guys set me, the only thing I could even remotely think to complain about was the narration. It sounds dated now, but really that style of narration was pretty standard for the time.  So I don't think it's even worth mentioning. In fact, I like everything about the picture, the superb cast, the chronological rearrangement of the story, the downer ending. Maybe you could say it leans a bit heavily on The Asphalt Jungle, but, actually, The Killing is a big improvement over that earlier movie. No, I'd have to give the film a . . . 10/10.

That's what you get, Drink, for not appreciating the genius of When You Read This Letter.

The Fountain - 7/10
Now I've seen all of Aronofsky's films. They're all extremely interesting and unique, but the only one I truly loved was The Wrestler.

This is a movie I had high expectations for but it didn't meat them. But I need to re-watch some time. Would you recommend Pi? I haven't seen it on DVD with Finnish subtitles, though, so I think I'm not gonna see it for some time anyway. But I think I'm gonna see The Wrestler in three weeks.

Pi and The Fountain are pretty much equal (probably prefer The Fountain a little more but Pi was more interesting). Requiem is a bit above them. The Wrestler is far above them all. Combined.

I think THE FOUNTAIN in years to come will be considered Aronofsky's materpiece. It's a film that's kind of ahead of it's time the way 2001 was for Kubrick. It's an incredibly unique piece of work.
