Octopuss

Octo= 8

D.C.= 2 letters

take away 2 from 8 and you have 6

6 divided by 2 is 3

three sixes = 666

666 = mark of the devil

Here's a way to throw a wrench in that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/616_(number)

So why praise him?

Same shit, different asshole.

If any Politician can do one thing that effectively makes the world even the SLIGHTEST bit better; I will give them praise.

I'm certain I can make some gargelly gook up to make "Octo" equal 615 but who has the time?

But if you've already accepted that Obama is no different than all the others then what makes you believe he will make the world a better place?

When I say Obama is no different, I mean that... he isn't really some post-partisan figure they try to paint him as. He speaks of a "new politics" but plays by the old rules and uses it against his enemies when they don't comply. He did it in the primaries. He did it in the presidential campaign. He'll do it during his Presidency. That is a good politician. That doesn't mean I don't think he can change the direction the US takes in the world for the better. We've yet to see what he'll do, and whether it will be for better or worse.

*Also, he's a welcome upgrade from Dubya or Johnny Mac, IMO, at the very least.

Cross of Iron (1977) - 8/10
Originally gave it 9/10, but it's still very good.

Whoa, whoa, what's this? Obamanian mind control already at work? Justify this reduction, mindless puppet!

;D I dunno. The ending struck me as more stupid than I remembered it to be, for one thing. And the production values are like from a 70s East German porn flick. And... that's about it. So, I guess 8.5/10 would be closer to truth but the main point is that I didn't enjoy it as much as remembered enjoying it.

Still more than me, as I found Cross of Iron anemic and underwhelming - certainly a disappointment all around.

The ending's the best thing in it.

Yeah, the end of Cross of Iron is great and it is not the only great scene in this film.

The movie in my signature - Started watching it the other night by my DVD player crapped out, so I watched the last hour or so this afternoon. I had wanted to watch a new film at the library but I'm feeling rather lazy today.
