Presumably he does not wish to draw them.

Saw Nicolas Cage's Knowing last sunday.
I like the twilight zone-ish premise so I gave it a chance, then I got what I deserved.

Oh my reviews are worthless. I liked Ashes and Diamonds the best though. Loved the opening scene and that shot of the vodka bottle.

Patton - 9/10 - Still excellent after all these years. Has anyone who's seen this film noticed that the El Guettar battlefield was also in FAFDM (the desert hills between El Paso and Santa Cruz) and a few other Spaghettis?

Has anyone who's seen the film noticed that the El Guettar (is that the way it's spelled?) battlefield is in Lawrence of Arabia (if memory serves, it's used in the scene of Auda's departure when he throws in with Lawrence)?

Hellboy (2004) - 4/10

Illustrates well how hard it is to make a good movie based on a comic book. If you go for a full-scale introduction with the character, his surrounding, his background, etc., in most cases you get an anemic story nobody really cares for. If, on the other hand, you go just for rampaging FX 'n' action packed ride with little regard for the original the fans of the comic book series burn your ass down. Hellboy, aiming to please everybody, rides somewhere in the middle, in the eye of the storm, and that's why very few even remember it after only five years.

Hopefully, the sequel will be somewhat better.

Somewhere in the Night (1946)    Dir by Joeseph F. Mankiewicz  with John Hodiak as George W. Taylor, Nancy Guild as Christy Smith, Lloyd Nolan as Police Lt. Donald Kendall, Richard Conte as Mel Phillips, Josephine Hutchinson as Elizabeth Conroy, Fritz Kortner as Anzelmo aka the psychic Dr. Oracle and Margo Woode as the hooker   Phyllis.  Great Noir 8/10

Didn't care much for this myself: I don't like Hodiak, and Guild is not my idea of an attractive woman. Also the plot is just nuts (but did you notice how Total Recall is essentially a remake?). This is one of those things where the film by itself is no great shakes, but the DVD is redeemed by a great commentary--Eddie Muller scores again.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008) - 5/10

Only slightly better, unfortunately.
