I hope you'll win an Oscar yourself one day, then.

Whose butt was doubled?

Vera Farmiga. I guess she had just had a child prior to shooting and thought her bottom was a bit too big.

The Last Seduction (1994) Neo-noir with a sizzling femme fatal performance by Linda Fiorentino, with Bill Pullman &  Peter Berg. 9/10

Des Teufels General (The Devil's General)  (1955) In spite of enthusiastic review at IMDB I didn't find reasons for excitement in this movie based on a play. Too verbose, unconnected in places, with whole parts (the emprisonment) I would have gladly done without and which do not add to the plot or character. Probably I didn't get it, the dubbing must have taken off something, but I don't rate it more than 5\10. Marianne Koch is in it but I'd never have sworn she is the same girl to be seen in FoD.

Canaris (1954) Good movie about the chief of the army intelligence in Nazi Germany. It has that narrative pace totally missing in Walkuere. I normally would give it 7\10, but considering the incredible physical resemblance of the main actors to their models, making the movie even more believable, I give it 8\10.

Have you seen either of the Stauffenberg movies from that time period?

One of them has the great Wolfgang Preiss as Stauffenberg so I might be interested in seeing it. I'll keep an eye out for the Canaris film though.

Unfortunately the german dvd of 20 July has no subs whatever and only german audio.  The italian release of Canaris (and another dozen german IIWW 50's movies) has only italian audio and no subs. But it seems to be easily available the american release of the Pabst movie on the 20 July as Jackboot Mutiny.
