Pił forte, ragazzi! (1972) - 6.7/10

Well I enjoyed this. Doesn't seem like the usual 100% slapstick Hill-Spencer flick but it delivers its share of fun.

The Exorcist (1973) - (around) 8.5/10

Very well crafted but never really that scary in my book, though often very disgusting. I wish I had seen it when it first came out.

Che: Part One - 5-6/10 - I have finally gotten around to seeing this (thank you, Netflix!) and I have any number of problems with the film. The biggest one being that, for a movie about such a controversial and colorful character, it's really rather dull. There's little narrative flow, next to zero characterization, preventing little tangible entertainment value. The film finesses any political controversy by completely ignoring politics altogether: the film does not openly endorse nor condemn Che (I will say it tacitly supports him), but it's so bland that you can't claim "objectivity" either. Aside from some bald platitudes we don't get any sense of Che and Castro's politics, nor the Batista regime's cruelty; the film shows (correctly) that Batista's men had little stomach for fighting, so one might ask why the Revolution was so difficult? Throw in a useless framing device and narration and you've got a film full of problems. Good acting, gorgeous cinematography and a few set-pieces that really shine (particularly the Siege of Santa Clara), so it's not a total loss. Hopefully Part II will be better.

Gorgeous cinematography? Looked very cheap to me. Apart from that, you spot most of the flaws of that film, while forgetting the main one: it's boring to death. I still cannot put anything lower than 5 since... there is not much to really criticize either.

There's really no need for you to go fishing for compliments like this. I'm sure you understood very well what I meant.

Don't tell me what I need.

The party scene is insipid. And this is particularly damning when you recollect there's an equally bad party scene in Darling.

The film impressed me when I was 17, but now I consign it to that limbo in which Catcher in the Rye and A Separate Peace and Of Mice and Men and other such works float about. I shall never watch it again.

(Well, yeah, Midnight, sorry about the French title, Titoli)
Never seen movies you're talking about... But you're not selling them very well.

Conan the Barbarian (1982) I liked it even better this second time: solid story , fantastic sets, beautiful women and, yes, Blacknigger couldn't act at this time but I can't imagine anopther one for the part. I didn't like the OST and maybe some cut (for example in all the shrine on fire part) could have been in order. 8\10

Conan the Destroyer (1984) In Italy they could have made ten of this for the price of one. And better. Rambaldi's creations suck (the Alien like creature is beyond ridiculous, not to talk of the room of mirrors one) and the sets, though lavish, look just like sets. I also think that the virgin princess is an encumbrance (I would have liked more of Sarah Douglas, a really sexy woman). They needed a better story with more sex and gore, like the first one; and less awkward special effects. A pity because Schwarzenegger has learned to play (though he will even get better), Chamberlain is good and Grace Jones is absolutely perfect. 5\10

Don't "dull" and "bland" imply boredom?

I guess it does. But "rather dull" doesn't imply "boredom to death". I agree my sentence wasn't clear anyway.

Che Part Two - 5/10 - The first fifteen minutes feature an animated geography lesson, a shot of a television set, and a bald guy we never see again puttering around and cleaning his dentures at length. It gets marginally better after that.

Don't we actually see him throughout the entire film?
