For me Afro Afro Afro

JUST. WATCH. PORN. (I am sure there are plenty of redheads with big tits, and they probably don't force you to watch annoying gangsters. Heck, they could probably arrange a few low-angle shots with shadows too...)

But you see I don't consider it a bad film, and that makes all difference.  Cool

in the movie's thread, you posted 9 screen caps 2 of shadows/lighting, and 7 of the women in various states of undress. http://www.fistful-of-leone.com/forums/index.php?topic=11014.msg152149#msg152149

Two words: Paddy Chayefsky.

I didn't find Marty overwrought or pedantic.

You won't find Rhonda Flemming in any porn films. Case dismissed.

I guess you've never seen any pulp fiction magazine or 1950-60's paperback covers  Cool

Strorm Warning (1950) This one was better and much darker, though it had a very "un-dark" cast, Ronald Reagan, Ginger Rodgers, and Doris Day?, lol the subject was The KKK too. If it had had a normal Noir cast and a more believable ending. . . who knows. ;-) 6/10

It can definitely go in the Hard Core Noir List but the film isn't that good as a whole.

I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean.

My comment about all your screen caps of the girls (and the few of the shadows) was in response to your earlier statement that you liked the movie for other reasons as well. I was just saying that if it ain't all about the girls (and the shadows to a lesser extent), why would all your screen caps be of the girls (and the shadows)? I was just making the point that the hot shots of the hot chicks (and for noir fans, the noir visuals) is really all that is appealing about this movie; the story itself is not very interesting.

So are you trying to say that your screen caps are just meant as a reference to those pulp/magazine covers, but that nobody should confuse them for to be an indication that those images are all that is worthwhile in this movie?

Glad that's cleared up....  Wink

No I'm saying the whole film is like a Pulp Mag & paperback covers (which a lot of Noirs were based on) come to life, and I enjoyed the story to boot.

Gentleman's Agreement (1947) 8/10

This was one of 2 movies -- the other was Crossfire -- released in 1947 to deal with the then groundbreaking issue of anti-Semitism. This one is far better than Crossfire. More discussion here http://www.fistful-of-leone.com/forums/index.php?topic=11229.0

But not an eight out of ten. It's the worst I've seen from Kazan (though, that's not too many).

Wuthering Heights (2011) - 8/10
A bit jarring in the first half and some not-so-convincing dialogue in the second. Otherwise a surprisingly good film considering the premise: a dogme 95 -kinda adaptation of a classic.
