Hanna - 2/10 - What a pile of dog shit. What might be a passable action movie instead proves monumentally pretentious. Prestige director Joe Wright crams the film full of idiotic "artistic" touches: spinning camera angles, off-kilter color, hard cuts, headless dinosaurs, an endless drone of nauseating techno music. Then there's the cast: what's more irritating, Cate Blanchet's King of the Hill-style Texas accent or Tom Hollander's Hogan's Heroes-quality German? And these are actors I usually like. No matter what fancy edits you employ, Mr. Wright, you're still making a teenaged assassin flick.

Hanna is a wonderful film for me. Beautifully directed and quite intelligent. And the score of the Chemical Brothers is fantastic too.
Of course I also enjoyed the acting. It was a pure pleasure to watch in the theatre. 9,5 /10

I'm surprised that you think so low of Hanna, Groggy

Yes, it can, on plasma.

I've never had plasma (and I don't know jack about format wars), but according to one writer from PCMag.com http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2387377,00.asp : in the LCD vs. LED vs. Plasma war.....  the current winner is LED  :P

of course, I am sure it all depends on what brand, size, model etc. you get

I have this LG  32" LED http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-32LV2400-led-tv (and I bought it dirt cheap off some dude I know who bought more items on Black Friday than he could sell on eBay  ;)) and it's beautiful  O0

(I know we're discussing picture quality, but if you're interested in energy efficiency, I have also read that LED costs far less electricity than does LCD, and  FAR FAR less  than plasma. This guy http://www.plasmavslcd.com/plasma-vs-lcd/ says that the LCD costs almost double to run than the LED does, and that the plasma costs almost 3 times as much as the LED does).

cj: is this your first HDTV or just your first LED screen?

Lawless(2012) 9/10. The film Public Enemies wished it could have been. And seeing Jessica Chastain's tits in 4K was a treat. Nick Cave's soundtrack is a real toe tapper: I rushed right home and ordered a copy from amazon.

Both, I sprung for it the day after the Sharp tube died, it was only $240 at Best Buy a 32" screen.

That's not true according to nearly everyone I talked with recently. I even started a poll in a forum. Plasma is still the superior technology if you want the best picture quality, especially if you want to watch mainly movies on it. And when I compared TVs in the shops plasma looked indeed more natural than the LCD/LED stuff.
Only disadvantage is indeed a higher power consumption, but that costs only a fly-shit over a year. And you can't get a plasma beneath 42".

So I have bought me a Panasonic 42 " plasma recently.

Thanks. It's become an incredible chore to find a good movie in a theater these days (everything seems to be sequels or re-makes of sci-fi shit). I'll check this one out

Nah, there is a new model since summer. And of course 1080p Full HD.

Got mine for half the price.
