La Terra Trema Very grim, long but involving neorealist epic about Sicilian fishermen.
Hmmmm . . . I'm thinking maybe on this one I'll . . . pass?

I gave this a 9/10 on my first viewing. (Does that mean it'll be a 10/10 after my second?)

HITCH-HIKE (1978) Franco Nero, as the alcoholic reporter husband, Corinne Clery  Shocked as his desirable, wealthy wife and David Hess as the psychotic criminal, Italian Road Picture, descent attempt with a nice twist, and entertaining enough for a 6-7/10

The Damned - 8/10 - 2nd viewing. As before I'm convinced this would be a masterpiece if Visconti hadn't botched the last half-hour.

Snow White and the Huntsman - 2/10 - A few years ago I would have asked why a fantasy movie was so dark, dreary and joyless, but that's inexplicably become the norm. This is a movie about Snow White not Bicycle Thieves. The movie's so generic in its story, characters and magic creatures that even the few clever visuals generate only momentary interest. Charlize Theron salvages a few scenes through reckless scenery chewing, but Kristen Stewart is wretched and Chris Hemsworth's Scottish accent wouldn't pass in a high school production of Brigadoon (Wut duh YOO know uh Zorro!). Mirror Mirror couldn't possibly be worse... could it?

a disgusting race. I don't know if I have ever seen anything more repulsive in my life. I'd rather have spent the two hours looking at Paula Jones in Penthouse as long as her legs and pits were shaven
