Ebert gave positive contemporary reviews of FAFDM and GBU which are accessible on his webpage. I'd say they were much more complimentary than Crowther. Of course, Ebert was then of the "New school" of critics, thus more receptive of the new methods than Crotchet Crowther.


But Ebert later said in his revised review for the dvd release of GBU in 04' that "What I described was a four star review but I only gave it three stars because it was a spaghetti western and couldn't be art".
Roger "Double Standards" Ebert is now on a wheel chair and hooked to tubes because of his biased ideals  Evil
