I could do without the whole "bitter racist learns the errors of his ways" subplot but as long as he kicks some ass I'm cool with it.

It seems a bit too early for a John McCain biopic like this... but whatever Afro Tongue

I'll see this just for the return of Eastwood as an actor. But I've got a feeling it won't be that spectacular as a film overall.

The film is actually getting some good buzz in some magazines I've been reading, particularly Entertainment Weekly. That's some good news thus far. I look forward to this film because of the talents of Clint Eastwood in front and behind the camera. I'll be seeing this in the theatre for sure.

Hell yeah. Eastwood kicking ass ON THE BIG SCREEN AGAIN? What's not to go and see in theatre?

I agree. Some people are making fun of the movie because of the subject matter that goes along with Clint's age. However, I tend to turn a blind eye to that because after all, this is a movie and Clint looks like he could still kick all our asses at 77 in the trailer. haha. I have no problem with it.

Looks? Clint easily could kick my ass at 77. I don't think I could even punch him if my life depended upon it.

haha yeah, I hear ya. When I first seen the trailer and watched Clint uttering the words, "Get off my lawn." I almost fell out of my seat laughing. Not because I was making fun of him but because the badass Clint is back in business. It's nice to see him acting again.

Just got back from the theatre.

I would have rather have the last Clint Eastwood movie be an action flick but I thought this was a more than decent way to go out.

The ending bothered me a great deal when I saw it but after a few minutes I realized it was the most logical and (dare I say) clever conclusion.

As a reward, Clint croons a song during the closing credits... did he learn nothing from Paint Your Wagon?

SPOILER

logical conclusion or not... I wanted him to wipe the floor with those mofos Angry

Like I said... once you step back and realize the whole movie was leading up to it... it is a solid ending.

SPOILER

Reasons the movie was leading up to it...

1. Kowalski was dying anyway

2. If he had taken the gang head on, bullets blazing, it would have just resulted in a member of the gang surviving and getting revenge on the family for Clint's killings.

Violence only creates more violence...

I had more reasons but I can't quite think of them right now

i figure the ending makes sense in context, my teachers hint was that Kowalski is a Christ figure (which was good enough to spoil it for me)

still, the fanboy in me wants the ending to be a bit different, but the ending it has is better in an overall thematic kind of way.
