Defiance

Three Jewish brothers escape from Nazi-occupied Poland into the Belarussian forest, where they join Russian resistance fighters and endeavor to build a village in order to protect themselves and others in danger.

Being a fan of director Edward Zwick, I was interested in seeing this before I even viewed the trailer. The man's films have yet to dissapoint me. But, when I seen the trailer, I was even more excited in anticipation. Check this out. Looks to be a great Daniel Craig performance. It's also based on a true story.

As a history buff, I look forward to this film, since it's a story of WWII we rarely hear about.

It looks okay, but I've no great desire to see it. Most of the reviews I've read have been negative. We'll see if I have time/money in a few weeks.

There's not that many reviews out yet that I've read but I've read quite a few fan reviews and they've been solid. Zwick is a solid director so I'm sure I'll be at least entertained. His film always look great at least.

Exactly, and it's Jews killing Nazis. A sequal to Schindler's List.

This film must be based on a book I'm guessing? Does anybody know what the title is if it exists? Seems like it would be a great read.

Craig at least looks the part (german jew) here as opposed to the Bond films.
He's great in that role to... but he is not the ideal choice when it comes to the looks department.

I'm looking forward to this flick as well. Afro

It's funny though that you mention his looks. Before he was Bond, I don't remember many women even talking about Daniel Craig, let alone his looks. And now, so many think he's extremely good looking. I guess playing Bond does that for ya. haha.

This is not the first time he played a Jew. He was among the vengeful Jews in Munich.

I know some women who prefer Brosnon. I recently saw him in The Golden Compass, and he just disapeared from the movie. And Sam Elliot looked like he was in the wrong flick. Craig wasn't the ideal choice for that film as well.

One thing that bothers me over these films is the fact everyone is speaking English. I easily let that go in Schindler's List, so it really depends on how well made it is.

But they aren't speaking English... in the context of the film it is in German. It's only in English so we can understand them without reading the subtitles.

Are we still complaining about that crap? Daniel Craig isn't a Scientologist, let it go.
