Producers Michael Cerenzie and Christine Peters are working on a Steve McQueen biopic reports Variety.

The project will primarily chronicle McQueen's Hollywood career, which began in 1956 when the Indiana native got his break in the film "Somebody Up There Likes Me".

The pair will produce, along with Brian Oliver and Chuck Rock, based on the Marshall Terrill-penned biography "Portrait of an American Rebel".

It also examines his three marriages, including his stormy relationship with Ali McGraw, as well as his battle against lung cancer and offscreen penchant for motorcycles, fast cars and drugs.

This doesn't exactly sound promising. Who's going to play McQueen?

I have no clue who's going to play him. If I had to guess, maybe an unknown? I think this project is hard to be successful because who' going to capture the essense of Steve McQueen? It's virtually impossible.

The book the film will be based on is fantastic though. I own the Bio and have read it a couple times. There's a lot of great insight and stories about the life of McQueen from his childhood all the way up to his death.

Hopefully Daniel Craig.
