I had seen only snippets of this and never bothered to watch it all. Which was good because today I saw it with the original audio and on a big screen. At IMDB viewers marvel at the fact that MM can act like she did here, in a very hard part and did it effortlessly. But the fact is that when one delivers performances like those in Some Like It Hot or Gentlemen Prefer Blondes should not be amazed. The movie is a good thriller mixed up with melodrama (or the other way around) with a great as usual Widmark and a Bancroft miles away from how sexy will look fifteen years later (unfortunately she is given 5 numbers to sing! Among which 2 evergreens like Manhattan and How About You: I would have liked MM to have sung them!). Anyway it is good and gets a solid 7/10.
