Brilliant kidnap movie up until the final minutes where the main character makes an incredibly stupid decision for the sake of moving the plot along. Angry

Still, a movie that's 90% brilliant still warrants a very good score (ala No Country For Dave Jenkins).

Don't bother with the American remake.
It's just a rehash. No point in watching it unless you're a fan of a typical Hollywood ending.

Saw this when it was new and was impressed, chiefly by the editing. Did you notice that the director (George Sluizer) also took an editing credit? This was badly remade in English in the 90s with Jeff Bridges and Kiefer Sutherland . . . with the same director! (Sell out, sell out!) If I remember right, they changed the ending to make it, shall we say, more Hollywood?
