Tuco the ugly

I've rediscovered this great movie after quite a few years since watching it and was really impressed with Lancaster's great performance. I mean, the movie is truly touching, all the actors did a great job, but he is simply unmatched. Such sincereness, casualness and staidness are so hard to find nowadays... I remember that when I was younger what shocked and moved me was the visual component; the urban decay of the city, but now I realized the characters themselves are far more tragic. The depiction of the spiritual decrepitude of these people that dwell in the city of the game is uncompromising and horrifying, as the direction is masterful.

I saw this movie years ago, and was stunned by the atmosphere as well as by Burt too. I'll have to double check it though, but it seems to be -by far- the best movie by Louis Malle that i have seen.
