Snuck into this after sitting through a horrible movie (won't say which one as it would be embarassing) and found this to be nearly as bad.
Perhaps I wasn't in the right mood. The trailers promised a raunchy comedy/coming of age story (
Superbad
like) with young adults working at an amuesment park. What I got was a slow moving drama with little laughs and little interest.
Kristen Stewart is a very good looking girl but she was one of the main reasons I walked out. No charisma. Soulless.
Her "I'm so disinterested and bored with everything around me" schtick gets on the nerves quickly.

I walked out after an hour or so.
Sorry I didn't make that clear.

Lots of IMDBers love this movie. And it was filmed in and around Pittsburgh. Might give it a shot.

Perhaps I'd like it better had I known what I was in for. I would never love it though. Too "same ol', same ol and done better in same ol' movie".
Kennywood looks really run down. Ever been there?

Strangely I haven't.
Was going to last summer but my mom wasn't able to get tickets... Don't remember the circumstances exactly but we've been penny-pinching of late, so that might be it.
As a vaguely related topic, several scenes of Silence of the Lambs were filmed right across the street from my dorm.

Probably for the best. I can't imagine somebody your age being too impressed with carnival rides.

I've never been too big on amusement parks, to be honest. Except for water slides.

I like water slides well enough but I often stay away from them.
Hate walking around with wet undies.

I remember my last trip to Hershey Park in 2004 or so... log flume ride, shoes and socks completely soaked, no way to change them, had to walk around like that for five hours or so. You can imagine how my feet looked after that.

Went there in the late 90's.
Don't recall too much of it but I liked their wooden coaster (WILD CAT I think) and that whip ride next to it.

I went to Valleyfair amusement park last summer. Great place; awesome rides and hot chicks in bikinis

I don't see how you can hate this movie, FC. it's too harmless and charming.
