Before the first in the series, nothing to to with that AVP crapfest.

I'm not adamantly opposed to the idea, but what the hell would a prequel entail?

I would guess the Aliens and the Space Jockey.

Yeah, apparently the story will be taken back, before the Nostromo met with the xenomorph(s), and explain how they got there in first place, who created them and what is the role of the Space Jockey(s).

If THE PETRIFIED FOREST, KEY LARGO or THE DESPERATE HOURS didn't need a prequel, why would this? Either DJ or Titoli penned it a "monster in the house" movie, which I completely agree, so where's the logic or the need for this to exist? Seems like a cash-in, and judging from American Prankster, this too will opt for blandness.

Revenge of the Sith is not a good movie, just slightly less horrendous than the first two installments.

Hayden (anti)Christensen's complete lack of talent kills any potential positives the movie had to offer, which to be honest, I don't remember too many.

I'm expecting ideas concerning the background of the Alien(s) most than anything else, and since most of the psychological aspects of their disturbing life circle have already been explored and exploited in previous movies I'm not so much interested in cheap thrills and gore. I think if you'd ask all the true fans of the series most of them would agree the signing of Ridley Scott as a director is a excellent move, after all Alien was his child, and he said he was intrigued by the idea of continuing and developing the mythos more than once in the past.

Not to mention he has a score to settle with James Cameron

I'm with you on this TH as well as saying ROTS being a piece of crap.
I find it even more intolerable than the previous two prequels.

I'd have to watch the trilogy again to really have an informed opinion on the matter, but I probably will save myself the agony.

I just don't understand how anyone can be excited about something that Ridley Scott will direct. He really hasn't made a great movie. BLADE RUNNER has some beautiful scenes, but overall, is a mis-fire - it doesn't know what it wants to be despite its strong conclusion.

This screams giganitc disappointment.

And Cameron > Scott. The two Terminator movies are pop masterpieces.

I've heard/read somewhere (was it on the commentary track of Aliens?) that Ridley Scott WAS initially interested in directing the sequel but the studio went for Cameron instead. So I guess there is a little pride burning inside.
