 Cry  Cry Cry

Very sad to hear of his passing.

And it's always sad when we lose some connection with the past.

Carey does the dvd commentary, along with Peter Bogdanovich, on Wagon Master (1950). He seemed to be sharp as a whip, remembering all sorts of details from that movie, and in general from working with John Ford, Ben Johnson, and all the others. Whether or not you like Wagon Master (I don't), I'd recommend that any serious Western fan watch that commentary at least once, it's very enjoyable.

Here's an article from the LA Times http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-harry-carey-20121229,0,4888843.story
Carey lived for 91 years, appearing in more than 90 movies, as well as many tv appearances. He is survived by Marilyn (nee Fix) his wife of 68 years, and their 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

His was a life well-lived.

 Rest in peace, Dobe    Smiley
